Dishcrawl

Hello, Hello
Sadly to say I'm not featuring a cafe this week but instead a dishcrawl experience! Last weekend, I went on a dishcrawl with super-sweet event planners, Tracy Lee(twitter@ladyleet) and Sara Spivey (twitter@saraspivey).

Now, a dishcrawl, in my words, is restaurant hopping: having a couple dishes at a restaurant, then hopping to another for a couple more dishes! I was thrilled and slightly over-excited to discover fantastic restaurants that I never knew about.
I'm sure you want to see the pictures now :D

Tracy and Sara did an amazing job! All the restaurants were walking distance from each other and both had extremely good knowledge of what to order.

The first stop we made was Peruvian cuisine at--
Los Balcones Del Peru
1360 Vine St
Hollywood, CA 90028
323.871.9600

We had the Seafood Ceviche, a spicy-lime salad, and the Chicha Morada, a blue-corn juice drink with lime and a little cinnamon flavor to it .
The second stop was European at--
Sabina's European Restaurant
1253 Vine St Ste 12
Los Angeles, CA 90038
323.469.9522

We had the Pork schnitzel, breaded pounded pork chops, which was crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. Chicken paprika, tender paprika chicken that just fell apart with a side of mash potatoes.

The third stop was Burgers at--
Umami Burger
There's two locations: one on La Brea and one on Hollywood
www.umamiburger.com

We had the Truffle burger, flavorful truffle infused-cheese and truffle glaze. The Port & Stilton Burger, blue-cheese and carmelized onions. To start off we had oyster shooters with passion fruit-orange vodka shots, potatoe tater-tots and house pickels..mmmM. To note the home-made ketchup and hot sauce!!

The fourth and last place for dessert at--
Café Was
1521 N Vine St
Hollywood, CA 90028
323.466.5400

A french bohemian café located right behind Borders bookstore on Sunset+Vine.
We had the:
PUMPKIN CRÈME BRÛLÉE
 pumpkin spice ice cream

PROFITÉROLES
espresso truffle ice cream / bittersweet chocolate velouté

APPLE BEIGNES

apple-spiced ice cream

I hope you all enjoyed my little adventure :D Everything was excellent, my favorites were the Chicha Morada, Ceviche and the ice-cream at Cafe Was. If you ever get a chance visit www.battledish.com

Café Loft

$
Jazzy, chic and classy. Café Loft reminds me of the 20s: Chanel, sequins, fur and pearls. The ambiance is so relaxing and extremely stylish.

Food: I would recommend this café as a tea and dessert place more than anything.
I had the pumpkin shaved-iced, complimented with the earl grey tea. It was a perfect combination! The pumpkin shaved-ice was delish, not too sweet, the toppings consisted of creamy pumpkin puree, fresh strawberries, kiwis, little mochi squares, rainbow captain crunch and a pumpkin heart-shape ice-cube. The earl grey was brewed just right, you can ask for extra hot water to refill your teapot.
The second time I went I had a waffle. The waffle was pretty standard, it was topped with fresh fruits, strawberry jam and whipped cream. I really don't think you can go wrong with that.
Sweet Lady Jane and Susina Bakery cakes are also served here :)

I absolutely love this café,  it was like entering into another world. Free parking at rear (6th and Serrano corner) and free internet, just ask them for the password. The address of café Loft is :
3882 West 6th Street
Los Angeles, CA 90020
213.383.3006

Check it out and enjoy :]
